Volunteers are always needed at the Civitan Foundation. We have been very successful in developing partnerships with volunteer groups throughout the community with local schools, college and civic organizations, including the Boy Scouts of America, The Fraternal Order of Eagles, school groups and many others. At Camp Civitan we welcome individual and group volunteers. Volunteers range in age from youth (minimum 12 years of age) to Senior Citizens, dedicating at least one full week working at camp or just few hours a week in one of our year-round programs.
Summer Camp Volunteers
The Civitan Foundation provides safe and fun summer volunteer opportunities that inspire lifelong friendships, help develop leadership skills, and self confidence. Mentoring and working with individuals with developmental disabilities gives our volunteers the tools to step up to future challenges, tasks and positive influences that last lifetimes. Since 1968, youth have been part of our “work staff and support” in Williams during the summer sessions. These positions include room and board, and the many activities that are planned each week. You will live, eat, play, and grow with the campers. Your jobs will include; helping in kitchen, sports, housekeeping, games, skits, dancing and many other weekly events and programs. We take pride in the fact that many volunteers have come back as paid staff, the GROW YOUR OWN program we are building, gives youth first hand life experiences working with the campers and builds caring direct care providers for the future. We encourage you to come and share your talents and skills. Our volunteers exemplify generous spirit! We work with each volunteer to find the best “match” – a position that addresses the individual's reasons for wanting to volunteer, and allows us to expand the services we provide to our clients and our community.
Young people who volunteer find that our program encourages good citizenship, teaches responsibility, helps them develop a greater appreciation of diversity, and is a wonderful activity to add to college application.

Courtney first became involved with Camp Civitan when she served as a volunteer during the summers of 2003 and 2004. Her interest in the organization developed when her mother suggested it as a service opportunity for National Junior Honor Society. This is not uncommon, as the Civitan Foundation, Inc. provides an opportunity that caters to the needs of students looking to complete community service hours for graduation.
